IYA Studio continues its collaboration with Folk Clothing for a new women’s store on Lamb’s Conduit Street in London.
The new space housing Folk’s women’s collection complements the original adjacent menswear store, rather than adopting its own distinctive design statement. Conveying the essence of the brand – which focuses on quality materials and attention to detail – the designers have again reclaimed old, solid pieces of furniture to introduce into the space. This time, the choices include rope-hung lighting, as well as rails and a shelving system crafted from old boards from a disused pottery factory in North England. The store also features a painted mural on one wall and solid marble heads from sculptor Paul Vanstone.
IYA Studio Creative Director, Fleur Paterson and Cathal Macateer of Folk developed the women’s space to reflect the overall direction of the brand whilst introducing some new colours, textures and furniture to give the store a more feminine feel. The wall artwork was inspired by the paintings of Folk Designer Elbe Lealman.
